Engrave 'Stoke City' on that Trophy now

With the EC2 Season 25 English Cup Final less than 24 hours away, Potters boss ‘DP 91’ has broken the silence to talk Wembley and steering Stoke to their first English cup final appearance.

'DP91 is weapons ready'

DP91 - “It’s been an interesting first season at Stoke, a real mixed bag. We’ve underperformed in the league and found ourselves producing consistently good cup results to compensate for it, with plenty of the fringe players at the club proving their credentials time and time again when opportunities present themselves.

The clubs been allowed to develop under my stewardship and I believe we’re building a great team here which should be looking to consistently reach such heights as the English Cup final.

The important thing for the side now is to ensure we don’t let complacency into the camp. We’ll go out there and take what’s deservedly ours and more so mine. Mr Hirst walked into Carlisle at the quarter final stage of this competition and has done well to make it to the final granted but we here at Stoke earned this spot together, you might as well engrave Stoke City on that illustrious trophy now.”

Stoke’s Road to Wembley

En route to Wembley Stoke have overcame D2 promotion pushing Colchester United in the first round 3-0 before sending D1 side Southampton crashing out of the competition in round 2.

The D4 highflying Crewe Alexandra were next up in round 3 in what was a tightly fought 1-0 win away from home for the Potters. Stoke were content in a mid table position at this point and still going strong in the English Shield to keep the fans on side with the clubs questionably poor league position. The 4th round would see yet another close affair and progression for Stoke as they progressed in a penalty shootout 5-3 over Cardiff City after a 1-1 result which has been lauded as the catalyst for Cardiff’s plummet to the bottom of the D2 table.

Stoke’s ‘hit and run’ impact in the cup appears to have struck again since their 1-0 quarter final win over D2 rivals Peterborough once again lead to the clubs demise in D2 which has seen the club now go 8 consecutive games since without a single point!

The semi final was tipped to be the end of Stoke’s cup run as a strong Everton side would host the Potters but DP 91 had other ideas as Stoke once again adapted a new formation which saw his side contain the Toffee’s in a result which on paper was a generous one.
